Your feedback is appreciated ngwaneso Thuto. I am responding to your concern about “…using biased statements …”. Let’s define bias. Essentially bias is about prejudice against something. You are suggesting that I am prejudiced against some in the use of words like “racist”, “sexist” and so forth.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The greatest people I have come to k now are the Afrikaaners. Afrikaaners like Van Zyl Slabbert, Breteynbach and others are great human beings. However, there are others who have brutalized our lives and those words describe their behaviour. If you attacked by a lion and you must describe the behaviour you will use words like invasive, war mongering, predatory and so forth. Would that mean you are biased against the lion that attacked you? Definitely not. You are merely describing the experience that you have gone through.

Finally, if an elephant steps on the tail of the mouse and you try to persuade the elephant to lift its foot so that the mouse can live and the elephant says you are biased. You must remain impartial. Will that help the mouse? Definitely not. Impartiality to the elephant will mean death to the mouse and that is something you will never be able to live with for the rest of your life.

This is great and thank you. It brings me closer to knowing who I am. One thing though i have to mention, this post is very biased. I believe that in order to write good accounts of history, you need to keep away from using biased statements such as "invasive, racist and sexist Afrikaaners" and "The war mongering Afrikaaners". This is a very important piece of work, but the biased in it makes it less credible. It makes it sound opinionated and personal.
