It was my intention to respond.<br /><br />I don&#39;t understand the connection between &quot;Rainbow&quot; and &quot;Emperor&quot;. Rainbow is supposed to refer to ethnically diverse people in the newly liberated South Africa just like the diverse spectrum of rainbow colors after rain or by the river while the emperor refers to the imperial system that subjugates the rainbow colors which is why the semantic relationship between the two is a misfit like water and oil.<br /><br />I don&#39;t know much about Why We Are White Refugees coalition. It would be worthwhile to understand the people and why they have decided to organize themselves in that fashion despite their historically privileged background. As a former refugee myself and member of a historically disadvantaged group, I understand the pain, uncertainty and stigma associated with being a refugee. All these traumatizing attributes are something that a refugee does not choose because the life of a refugee is not based on choice. Does it then mean that there are legitimate White refugees from South Africa despite the new political dispensation? Please explain.<br /><br />South Africa has more people like Frederick Douglass and Hariet Tubmans. As a member of Why We Are White Refugees you certainly cannot compare yourself to these men and women of African descent (not a question of color) who were chained, enslaved and brutalized in all kinds of ways. Madam Hariet even sustained a gaping head wound as a result of an iron bar that crashed into hear head and knocked her down after it was thrown by a slave master who deeply detested enslaved persons. Do you honestly believe that you are in the same camp as these highly brutualized and enslaved persons? Please explain.
