While I applaud the Google and Sun Microsystems deal, it does not yet exclusively pose a threat to Microsoft instead it poses a threat to both Microsoft and ordinary people regarding their privacy. Google has already collected and continues to collect lots of information about our search activities and this gives them lots of leverage. This only intensifies that data collection without us knowing.
Microsoft does the same too except that they are stronger than Google. We mostly interact with Windows and related applications which track our activities. So between Google and Microsoft there is no escape.
